Depending on the flight time, Delta should just offer a meal voucher to first class passengers to be used to eat in the concourse or buy something to bring on board. Or if they have skyclub access the skyclub should be giving first class passengers a to go container and allow them to take food out of the skyclub to eat on board until they get this settled.
