Honestly, LH/LX lounges overall compare well to DL lounges - your experience may not be representative. Also, with *G status you will get access to SEN lounges that are a bit nicer than the std business lounges. UA hub Polaris lounges are very nice.
Oh interesting, okay. I purely assumed LH would have the better seats. Do you know which aircraft are upgraded already (haven't googled yet but I'm sure there is something out there)? I'm doing CVG-IAD-MUC-HAM and HAM-FRA-ORD-CVG in February to dip my toes in the water. I must have misread something because I thought it was UA on the way there and LH on the way back but when I just looked both TATL segments are Polaris. I'll do some better research and find a trip that splits it up on LX/LH for the trip in March.
And yea, I should have been more clear, I know one visit to one lounge isn't enough to make a fair judgement.
