Good to know, and yea, I noticed that while trying to see what a ticket runs. Seems a little ridiculous to hide the info like that.
I flew ZRH-DUS on LX in "business class" on a 220 (I think?). It was refreshing to see them still keeping the seat next to you open, so even though it was a standard seat at least I had the two seats to my self. I wasn't 100% sure which lounge I was supposed to use but after following a couple in to the one on the right and overhearing their conversation, I didn't even scan my BP and went to the one on the left instead. Very crowded, very loud on first two floors, quiet enough on the third.
DUS-MUC was on LH and the lounge was a total ghost town at 19:00 on a Thursday. I was on a regular ticket with them so I paid for access just to get the lay of the land and see what kind of food/drinks were offered.
Both lounges were a stark reminder of how spoiled I've been with Delta's lounges. I know it's an extremely small sample size so I'm keeping an open mind.
When the price is $600-900 less on UA/LH compared to DL/AF, I can suck it up as long as the seat and IFE is on par.
If you compare intra-EU J - that's a different beast. Comments referred to TATL flights. LH is slllooooowwwwlllllyyyy upgrading their fleet with state of the art J seats, until then they are at best mediocre. LX is better, but UA seat wins - no question.
Honestly, LH/LX lounges overall compare well to DL lounges - your experience may not be representative. Also, with *G status you will get access to SEN lounges that are a bit nicer than the std business lounges. UA hub Polaris lounges are very nice.
