Time to conclude this report from the comfort of my couch.

the day started with a reasonable wake up hour and after showering and packing the remainder of my stuff I headed out from the HR LAX on foot for terminal 5. The walk took about 15 min, and it was straight through to the TSA pre line. Not much of a wait and I was on my way.
my flight home was on an AA flight operated by Skywest. So that’s a regional jet for me and a departure from the 52 gates. These are located in a building well away from T5 and require a bus to get there.
i didn’t want to go tot he regional terminal too early as it’s not a great place to spend much time. Found myself a coffee and parked near the Jet Blue gates which had just emptied. An announcement came over the horn that there was a line forming to get to the 52’s so I meandered over still with plenty of time only to find a line snaking down the terminal. That was a new one for me. The folks manning the area did a great job of trying to pull people out who had nearer departures. i must have been asked 5 times where I was going.
after a lengthy wait and ride we were dropped off at our new waiting pen.
while waiting there were a number of folks running in off of subsequent buses that missed their flights.

At some point in the past month I took AA up on an upgrade offer so it was seat 3A for me on the shuttle north.

At some point before service, the attendant from the main cabin got on the PA for the longest announcement I’ve heard. Started with a warning to mind the cart with every conceivable body part listed in random order, then instructions on how to order coffee, and finally a reminder x2 to flush the toilet in the lav and the associated instructions on how to do so. Bizarre.

up front we were offered a breakfast box choice of salmon and cheese or yogurt and fruit. I think everyone that ate took the salmon.

it wound up being a smoked salmon mouse of sorts, some egg salad, crackers, enough cheese to plug a moose, and a blueberry muffin.

despite the appearance it was decent.

saw this not far out. Maybe over oregon or washington. Anyone know what it is?

gray and raining, yup, must be home.

i like getting to walk through the nature display on the way to customs at YVR.

and that’s a wrap. Sitting on my couch, gray and raining outside, watching the Dodgers and Mets play in the sunshine of LA where I was just a few hours ago.

thanks again for following along.
