Stayed here recently with a family group. Did receive an upgrade on one room from a base queen to a king with city view. The staff was indeed very friendly and accommodating. As this was our first trip to Porto, the location was very important, but overall I doubt that we would return here. The bathrooms lacked enough horizonal surfaces to set up even a few toiletries and a brush. I wasn't a fan of the the black rubber/plastic flooring in the rooms. HVAC was inconsistent, odd shaped rooms made it uncomfortable to get around even in the bigger rooms, rooms in the back are very dark. Overall the rooms felt like an Ibis rather than a Hilton. There was just one coffee machine in the breakfast area and on Sunday they ran out of regular beans for it. Next time I would look at the full scale Hilton in Gaia.
You should do a write up on TripAdvisor or Google. This hotel is ranked #3 in Porto on TripAdvisor but you have me wondering if it is overrated. I was planning to stay there ext summer.
