MMS hotels have the option/choice to participate in World of Hyatt rather than it being an outright mandate despite Hyatt’s ownership of the platform. Hyatt did say they planned to have 1000 integrated by the end of 2024; compared to the ~700 they added in April and pushing it up to ~870 now, they’re getting close. Compared to the 2000+ hotels they have in their portfolio, I don’t think we’ll ever get more than half of so participating with others coming in and out.
I too would like to see a few more spots added - Stamba in Tbilisi, The Ned in Doha, and indeed some of the boutique ones in Cape Town. One can only hope that we’ll see more options and in urban environments, so fingers crossed!
