Comp. under EU Reg. 261/04 for delay is the same regardless if award ticket or revenue ticket. Data point: received 600 EUR earlier this year for a delayed flight to MAD which caused me to misconnect and being rebooked for MAD-BOG the next day. That was a BA Avios ticket.
File a claim for comp. for delay on the IB website after you have travelled. Expect a reply within 4-6 weeks.
