I regularly clock in at well over 100 nights and 90%+ of those nights are within Canada. I'm sure there are many US based Ambassadors that earn all of their nights within the Excited States, and others in their home countries as well. Not every frequent guest is a globe-trotter.
There most certainly is an 'average' cost per room per night in a given country and I'm sure Marriott knows exactly what that is.
And yes, YVR/YYZ vary widely depending if you are staying DT, by the airport, suburbs, etc...taking tomorrow as an example, there are a bunch of properties near YYZ that clock out at less than $200, with the Delta at $125 CAD.
