CX sells through tickets connecting to UO on CX codeshare. The fact you didn't buy them means you cannot avail yourself of CX check-through services.

Very similar to me redeeming HKG-KUL on MH and then buying KUL-PEN on FY (MH's UO) last Friday.
FY doesn't have continuously-open desks at KUL.
And even though I'm a MH Plat and MH codeshares on FY (similar to CX codeshares on UO), MH landside won't accept my baggage and issue me BP - I had to wait for my flight's desk to open (though in KUL, Sama Sama Hotel lounge took PP and was very accomodating even for my lack of ongoing BP.
