They are going to retrofit the existing B748 anyway & they need cover for all the tech issues on the B748 fleet….
I don't think LH will bother refurbishing the B748s if aquired from KE, based on how the ex-PR A359 and ex-HU B789 entered service;
one problem might be the lack of PEY cabin on the KE jets, and legroom in Y is too much in LH standard, but the Apex Suites should work well for J (and of course, no overweight issue on the upper deck~
