BA have denied the compensation saying:

Your claim's been refused because BA728 on 08 September 2024 was cancelled because of Air Traffic Control due to weather. Due to the weather conditions Air Traffic Control imposed restrictions on the number of flights that could depart and arrive at London. Although some flights were able to operate as normal, your flight was one of those we had to cancel.

Is it worth pushing back against this as the code suggested the cancellation was due to flight crew? What are the chances the code in the cancellations thread was incorrect, or are BA just hoping I believe them?

Thanks!
The information in this thread is generally very accurate as it either comes from internal BA sources or deduction based on the ATC report on the day.

I would push back gently - unlikely BA will change their tune so you'll likely need to take it to CEDR to get anywhere.
