If yes, the seat map is never a reliable way to know the booking level. Even more since there is a fee to pre-book a seat even in J for non-status pax.
This is helpful info, thank you. The flight is tomorrow the 14th. I assumed the seat map wasn’t reliable for Y, but I’m surprised to hear it’s true for the other cabins, too. I always assumed the seats in higher cabins were all reserved at the time of booking, regardless of status. Good to know that isn’t the case.
Seems like I’ve been using ExpertFlyer incorrectly!
