I wonder what the regular rooms are like? My view faced east looking at some buildings, so it wasn't that much of a view. The shower was not enclosed, so that was a bummer. The location was nice, although pretty much every location in Manhattan outside of Times Square is nice. My check-in rep was nice and offered me 4pm checkout unprompted. The rep next to him was asked by her colleague how she was feeling and she replied "miserable" loud enough for me to hear, which I didn't think was professional, especially at a 5 star hotel. The only staff member I found genuinely warm and friendly was a housekeeper I encountered on my floor.

I got a cocktail at the bar with my destination fee. The bar is LOUD at night with a live DJ. I was expecting a quiet hotel bar but I guess not. The clientele here seems high end and/or ladies of the night.

So all in all, there just isn't any bang for the buck at this property. Not even a complimentary breakfast. It was just fine without being amazing, and I expected amazing at this price point. I stayed at a Ritz last year where the service and room was astonishingly incredible. Hell, I've had genuinely friendlier service at a Courtyard in small town California.
