FT members (and particularly those flying on OPM) are also the ones that make flights profitable. The "young of age" and expats visiting family typically buy the cheap seats. That will fill the plane but won't generate profits. This is one reason often cited for the lack of BKK flights (which would be more popular with UA MP members than all of these destinations combined)
Make flights profitable? I’ve been on FT for decades, and there are WAY more people looking for mistake fares here than there are GS members.
What’s your source that BKk would be more profitable than all these destinations combined? UA has the data, we don’t. I get that FT folk love BKK (and SIN) but that doesn’t mean FT is at all representative of the profitable flying public?
