Lhr is not the only airport where bags miss connections

I have had TXL, LHR, ZRH and DOH

one ttavellung companion had it happen at FRA. On that one, a group of us travelling (more than 10), one persons bag did not make it, everyone else, who connected from the same flight, did.

It happens
I’ll just pick it up on the way back most likely. I’ll be in Mexico City, then Puebla, then Tlaxcala, then somewhere else in Mexico City. I don’t want to play whack a mole with my bag while on vacation. As mentioned, I am not too fussed.

When I land in MEX I’ll ask if the bag can be sent there for me to pick up, as I don’t want to hang around for a courier instead of exploring the city. If not, not a big deal, I’ll collect it in MAD 10 days later.

My comment was more about the general state of HAL/BA. It all seems to fit perfectly within a company/country where a general blasé and indifferent attitude prevails because “it could be worse” or “it’s bad elsewhere too.” I’ve had bags delayed by both LH and KL before—their treatment was vastly superior (especially in the latter’s case), in that they notified me my bag was delayed (in KL’s case even before I landed) and kept me up to date with the tracing and progress. So far, I’ve had zero communication from BA/IB. If I didn’t have an AirTag, I wouldn’t know that the bag has arrived in MAD. Meanwhile BA only has an app where “My Baggage Updates” still says “Bag checked to MAD.”
