Drawn to the Raffles based on photos I'm seeing online, but it seems like recent reviews are not so positive? I'm mainly going to be using the hotel as a base for some touristy activities (visiting museum, souq, desert activities etc.).
Was considering staying somewhere closer to the city (ie. Mandarin Oriental), but the pricing for the Raffles is pretty good and it looks "nicer".
For those that have stayed, how much of a negative is the location if I want to be a tourist. Doha doesn't seem that large, most places seem easily accessible via a cab/rideshare.
Too bad the FS is available through the Discover Qatar program

Lusail, where Raffles is located, is certainly not close to the main attractions like the National museum, Souk, Msheireb, etc. However, Doha is relatively a small city with good traffic management. So, all these places were an easy 30-40 minute Uber ride away.
The Raffles’ hard product is certainly spectacular. But then, what’s the point in having a gorgeous suite if it takes an hour to fulfil simple requests like replenishing water bottles, and seeing unhappy mechanical staff all around.
