Outside architecture matters to me. I stay at one Mariott group hotel in Miami Beach and its exterior facilitates the appearance of a few aggressive and foul smelling people who beg and sleep off their alcohol/drug stupors on the chairs in the front courtyard. It isn't particularly pleasant to dodge the violent man demanding money, who camps out at the entrance. That's what a poorly considered entryway creates in some urban areas.

I don't think they could give it an any lower rating.
Overall, I offer that the descriptions were reasonable for some of the brands. Marriott charges a premium price for lacklutre properties that are often dirty and worn out. It gets away with checkin times of 4pm and checkout timesof 11 Am because other large chains acted in unison. Unfortunately, the chain has slowly but surely moved to offering a poor value proposition and it is why I moved to alternative options, purchasing based on price and ignoring the near useless hotel loyalty programs.I don't even bother using hotel F&B options now since the quality is mediocre at best.
