Yes, they would.

Brake temps can get quite high on long taxis, heavy weights, and/or hot/high conditions. It takes 10 to 15 minutes for the temperature to peak after brake application so that could easily happen shortly after takeoff. Lots of kinetic energy that the brakes have to absorb and convert into heat.
