I have a bit of a challenge. I have a ticket issued last March so that I could preserve 2 SWU's. AA cancelled one of the long haul flights and the ticket is currently a mess. I don't want to use the ticket but rather apply it to a future travel. They are saying that I have to apply it to travel before end of March due to the 1 year ticket validity. I want to apply the SWU to travel next April. There is C space on the short haul.. which will preserve the SWU. I can waitlist the longhaul. Is there anyway around the validity. Can I make a new booking before March expiration (where there is C space) that will reset the ticket date or will the original ticket number persist?
