Personally, I may be in the minority here, I find the safety record and history of some of the LCCs pretty sketchy. For this reason I tend to avoid Lion Air, Batik Air and similar SEA owned airlines that are not owned by SQ (So Scoot being an exception for me). Jetstar I cannot really decide on, but when I have flown them in Australia their performance has been poor. Depends on the route as well of course.
I wouldn't however lump Jetstar Asia in with Batik, LionAir etc in terms "sketchiness" and "safety". I wouldn't rate Scoot any higher than Jetstar in customer service etc either. Jetstar Asia probably suffers a bit as they have a much smaller fleet, lower frequencies and therefore less flexibility in terms of IRROPs. Scoot is extremely popular in Singapore because they are Singaporean, and they are part of SQ. Well and truly in the comfort zone for many locals. They still give customers just as many "one fingered salutes" as other LCC's though.
