But how does this apply to non-Yuu merchants? DBS' own website quotes 0.28 miles/$ for what it calls "other" spend so I figured the card isn't worth much for purchases at non-Yuu merchants.

You forgot to mention the UOB Lady's card offering 6mpd for a year from March '23 to March '24 on your 2 chosen categories of spend
You can still earn that but need to keep SGD10k in a UOB lady's account, though it is now open to men.
That was a good promo too, missed that one.
6 miles/$ would have been nice to have at supermarkets, especially considering that unlike the Yuu card you could also rake in extra miles when shopping at Fairprice.
