Good question and talking point,
HawaiiO
I love the Cathay Delight, served straight in then lounge or 'on the rocks' (sounds
so much more sophisticated than 'with ice' LOL) in the air.
Otherwise when flying, I'm a sucker for the cheap delight of the HK-style milk tea. Yeah, I know it comes from a packet, and I often have the packet stuff at home, but the CX crew have their own trick of adding a teabag to it for a bit to enhance the tea flavour - they normally just do this when making it for themselves, but when an 'in-the-know' passenger requests it they are delighted and happy to oblige.
(Many years ago when I was doing a
lot of SYD-HKG flying, Cathay had a delightful duck noodle soup as a 'light snack' in business class, and my routine was basically to take my breakfast/brunch in the Qantas First Lounge, hop onto the 8.30am CX110 or 11am CX162 and skip the business class meal, but throughout the flight I'd just have a few serves of the duck noodle soup and HK-style milk tea to keep me going, then take a proper dinner on arrival in HK).
