The write-ups do not give enough information for this list to be useful. For example, they should really clearly distinguish between the loosely-affiliated independent hotel collections like the boutique Design Hotels and the corporate brands like Marriott and Sheraton because this detail can have a significant influence on the guest experience. Then there are descriptions that are just plain misleading like the one for Delta hotels that completely omits the fact that the mark is now used for tatty old properties whose owners refuse to invest in refurbishing to current Marriott standards rather than making it out to be some nice Canadian brand.
Truly depends on the location & the 'franchise owner', The Delta in Jacksonville FLA is a newly refurbished hotel, absolute fabulous renovation, including the outside pool and all the first-floor amenities. Actually the nearby Marriott is very dated. Some Sheratons are old but renovations improving, The MKE Sheraton built in 1972 has been completely renovated with a fabulous EL open 6 days a week.
