It could be that the underlying agreements for corporate rates came up for renewal and the company went with another vendor, or EHI determined they were no longer renting enough to warrant a massive discount. My company has encouraged us to use our corporate code for our personal rentals to drive even more revenue towards our code, so long as you pay for the rental on your own. Whatever underlying contract powers our code did renew earlier this year, and most car classes went up by about $10 a day. 99% of the time my corporate rate is still much cheaper than National's regular rates and I continue to use them. There was one recent time where the 20% off weekend rentals without the corporate code was much cheaper, so I took that deal. I count myself lucky as talking to friends from my prior companies no longer use National exclusively, but have to book whichever is the cheapest option in their travel portal. Sure, you can sign up for Emerald and Avis and Hertz programs to bypass the counter but if you're spreading your rentals across multiple brands, it'll be hard to move past mid status tier and earn enough days/points to be useful for vacations.
