Note that a second AS award to JFK means AA will not check luggage through, you will need to collect at JFK and recheck to CX. Also you are not protected for rebooking on the JFK-HKG segment should something go wrong with the AA flight RDU-JFK.

Until such time as Alaska allows multiple partners on awards you'll have to live with these limitations. IMO for economy booking you may well be better off using AA miles for a RDU-JFK-HKG award and then using AS miles for a HKG-Asia short hop, and "build in" a HKG stopover.
