33. BSL-MUC Economy Light (S) LH2397(CL)

My train trip from Montreux to Basel was pleasant and punctual with the SBB Swiss train system. I reached Basel airport BSL by taking bus 50 from Basel SBB train station with an hour and a half to spare before the flight to Munich was scheduled to leave. The flight was listed as being delayed by 10 minutes, but the small delay eventually disappeared. It was totally fine sitting at the gate area with the other passengers and I didn't miss not having lounge access at BSL (it's a contract lounge, so FTL status members don't have access).

We walked from gate 60 out onto the tarmac and boarded the Canadair aircraft by steps at the front of the plane. Seating on this small plane is two on the left, two on the right. I had an aisle seat in the middle of the plane, beside the usual smartphone obsessed person. That said, the flight was very pleasant and the cabin crew were friendly and welcoming. The block time of 60 minutes turned out to be 45 minutes flying time, and I ended up having a quick nap, later enjoying the service of Lufthansa chocolates and Danish bottled water. We arrived at Munich bang on time at a remote stand and, on leaving the aircraft, I told the crew how good they had been - important to give positive feedback. Within 10 minutes, with the bus transfer, I was already in the terminal building and choosing my first wine in the Lufthansa Business lounge.

A very odd food stand just outside Basel SBB railway station, just where you get the bus 50 to the airport - I haven't seen this stall again in Basel

Exterior of Basel EuroAirport, which in the 1990s was marketed as the airport of Basel, Mulhouse and Freiburg, with the code EAP - now it is mostly low cost carriers which fly from here... not sure if the EAP code is still in use

The interior and layout of Basel airport BSL is quite pleasant, but it quickly becomes crowded if there are too many people

Seating on this Canadair jet, whether in Business or Economy class, is the same
