Booked a Viking Ocean for $15,500, AA Cruises gives you 15.5k miles as an incentive - if you charge the trip to an AA card they double it but you must of course give up the 3.3% cash discount.
So we would now be at 31k - if Citi awards 2x we double to 62k vs 15.5k plus $511 cash discount
Those CPA’s reading would say don’t forget we could leave the $15,500 earning 4.5% until the Citi due date so adding around $60 to the 62k - loyalty points don’t factor because of my Lifetime status.
Flip a coin?
A lot of consumer protection lost when paying cash.
