I see the A380 (EK817/818) from DXB - RUH has been downgraded back to a 777 from Oct 27th. Unsurprising as I travel this route a bit and the A380 was often half empty.
Also, introducting PE on DXB-RUH makes little sense to me (and it will be on the EK819/820 from Oct 27th) - why on earth would you want to pay more for a 1.5 hour journey (in PE over Y). Understand maybe if there is some connecting traffic or if all the fleet now has PE but it would not be my first choice route to introduce it on (and Prem Eco is very close in pricing to Flex + Y).
Given that it's a business heavy route then I doubt most Corporate travel policies will allow travel in PE for such a short flight but I guess an upgrade at the airport for next to nothing will be worth checking for.
I always thought that these regional flights are executed by FZ with their new 737MAXes. That would be better than using half empty 380s, which can be better used for long haul.
