That would have been a straight "no" from me. At Heathrow or Gatwick or somewhere with multiple BA flights if someone were in a genuine "might miss the flight" sort of hurry, that's fine - at PSA when they are just trying their luck to skip the queue on the basis their time is more important than anyone else's - absolutely not, nice try, get to the back of the queue
