Hello friends. Looking to see what your strategy would be in my situation.

I'm booked on UA19 on an A fare on 11/2 with two travel companions. The return is UA18 on 11/9, booked in an L fare. I’m currently gold and hoping to hit platinum with these flights.

I booked seats at my minimum class preference, so if I don’t get upgraded, no problem, but I’d like to. Buy up from my current seats to either Polaris or PP is $1.3k-$1.7k.
