I stayed here for 2 nights. Before booking, I contemplated between this and JW Marriott Auckland (35% more expensive).
It seems that the renovation and rebranding from Stamford Plaza Auckland to JW Marriott Auckland is still far from complete, considering the reviews.

Pros

• "Upgraded" from Larger Guest Room (Corner) to Larger Guest Room (Corner, Sky Tower View). In my opinion it is just "Partial" Sky Tower View unlike the rooms with real view.
  If you want the best guaranteed view, it's Standard Room (High Floor, Sky Tower View).
• Room is very clean and modern. The bathtub is relatively huge and comfortable.
• Full breakfast included for Platinum+ ground floor, along with extra Welcome Gift of chocolates worth $5 from supermarket.
• Very cheap when booking with the 3000 bonus points per stay.

Cons

• Elevator buttons can be a bit erratic.
• Location is not walkable to Downtown (Ferry Terminal, Britomart). Buses only come every 10-15 minutes and the AT HOP card costs $25 with $20 value.
  I ended up using the $7 Lime electric scooters each way.

Overall, this is a high quality budget hotel. P.S. there is a $48 per night upgrade offer to Studio Room at front the desk. If you don't mind the view, you can book the Low Floor rooms and pay for this upgrade.
