I liked my recent 4-night stay. In terms of hard product, the most rcent reports above describe it quite well - everything has a "new" feel to it and in a pleasant design style.

Presumably it was less busy than described in the previous reports; altough it certainly felt lively, I did not run into any issues with queues at front desk/breakfast, nor was availability of sunbeds at the pool and beach ever an issue.
  • Guest services reached out via email a few days in advance, asking about checkin and checkout times and offered other assistance. The information about arrival and departure had clearly been relayed to the front desk. I also asked Guest services to look into Titanium room upgrades; they replied in a generic manner, but the next morning my room chaned in the app from base room to Palm Suite which stuck. I don't know whether mentioning it in the email helped, or whether the timing was just a coincidence.
  • That upgrade was very nice; 80 sqm suite with a front sea view. Full separation of living room and bedroom, with 1.5 bathrooms (walk-in shower and separate tub).
  • I was offered M Club access for (I think) 200 AED per day, but declined.
  • Houskeeping was good; they also repliably replenished refillable water bottles (of which there were many in several locations throughout the suite) each day.
  • Water pressure in the walk-in shower was okay (not great), and changing the temperature took unusually long.
  • Breakfast (which I chose over points) at the main buffet restaurant was decent. Not many "made to order" options, but a wide variety of Western / Arabic / Asian choices.
  • Had dinner at the Korean steak resataurant one evening; food was just okay and I did not particularly like the vibe with loud music.
  • The hotel is in a good location to combine a beach/pool vacation with relatively quick access to downtown / old town (significantly faster by Uber than from properties deeper into the Palm).
Overall, I was happy with the stay, although I can imagine that there is probably a tipping point in occupancy which leads to "chaos" as described in previous reports, and that would significantly impact the experience. So, probably a good property for more quiet periods.
