It's good they dumped the emotional support animals since the policy was heavily abused (remember that miniature horse in the bulkhead row??). The carry on fee sucks, but so does the extra baggage and other ancillary fees. Even a 13lb small dog in a soft carrier isn't very comfortable stuffed in the bag under a seat for hours at a time so I question the need for anyone to bring a pet unless they are transporting it somewhere to remain.
