Hello, We used this post to help plan a two night stay in OSL.

We chose to stay in Radisson RED, Oslo Airport at the end of August for $338 for two nights. We arrived in early afternoon for checkin. There was no line at that time. We were given a room with some problems - shower not draining, phone not working, and TV remote dead. Since the phone was dead, had to go in person to checkin again - very long line at 4:00 and stayed long until late with groups checking in. Anyway, caught the eye of the person who checked up in as said loudly, "we have problems with our room that need to be fixed". She finished the checkin she was working on. Quickly and professionally found out our issues, gave us another room to move to, and was working the queue in less than 15 minutes. The room was only a few doors away from the problem room so we moved in about 30 minutes. All good in the new room.

That night we walked back to the airport to eat at Peppe's Pizza which stays open late (midnight?) and is on the land side. Ordering was a bit difficult, most staff not interested in taking dine in order; more used to one slice type orders. They got a senior person who took the order and then all was good - nice pizza, prompt service, leftovers taken to go for breakfast .

Next morning, used the information desk to get the Vy train plus 24 OSL transport tickets with senior discounts ($28 for two). We chose to walk the central area, outside/roof of the opera house; rode out to a botanical garden (just ok); and road to Vigiland Sculpture Park (Excellent). Then rode back to central area. Had a very nice dinner at Engebret Cafe established 1857.

Next am walked to the airport and had breakfast in the Finnair lounge.

This worked for us. You could do alot more if you have good feet HA!

Anyway, next March we will be in OSL for one night and probably will pick the same hotel - just so easy to not have shuttle to catch early in the am.

Hope this helps someone!
