Probably depends on the connection time for me. Chcu only has 1 Singapore bound departure per day, with a tight connection would be worried about delays. Auckland has 3 daily so less concerned about missing a connection. With a decent connection time or where I'm not concerned about a night in Chch, Chcu would be my preference.
