I'm no expert here but mykonos has a single runway with turn points (16/34) and a central terminal. When we landed 10 days ago we circled around the east side of the island and landed on 34, as there was a northerly wind, and again we took off on 34 as the wind was coming from nnw. Other airlines were also landing on 34. I assume landing on 16 happens when the wind is from the south, and yes the terrain close to the airport is interesting!
