CX was always a hold out on the 500 mile minimum. As you mention, the verbage about the minimum earnings is present for CX; Earn a minimum of 500 miles on flights shorter than 500 miles. However, that same verbiage is not present in the terms for JL. Earning charts on partner flights are a real mess and contradictory for alliance members.

In case you weren't aware, JL has separate charts for international & domestic flights. Be sure to reference the domestic flights chart to ensure that your booking class is eligible.
