P.S. in case you ask why I said majority were using MGM for ghost stay, if you remembered, toward the end of the partnership in 2023, MGM completely blocked anyone from doing mobile checkin for Excalibur and Luxor as long as those who made the reservation have their Hyatt and MGM accounts linked, they were very well aware these ghost stay people never step foot in Vegas because mobile checkin was allowed. That's why Hyatt and Rio make sure the new partnership wouldn't make the same mistake again to allow status matches or mobile checkin, and MGM make sure the new Marriott partnership don't allow Marriott elites to match to any status with MGM
Not sure what your post has to do with offering a fast track to status, ghost stays are not applicable at the rio and have nothing to do with rio status? 😉😀
I somehow have a hard time imagining the ghost stay issue being as big of a problem as some make it out to be and no I never did do a ghost stay during the MGM time myself. I AM Still MGM gold and it gets me to book MGM stays and play at MGM when I visit. I BOOK CHEAP rooms at Rio but play alot less there since I am only using it for EQNs on the cheap, MY POINT was that by offering a status match OR a fast track to Hyatt elites they COULD gain more business in the casino instead of just the cheap rooms, nothing more nothing less...
So for my next stay I have nights booked at RIO to get me to Globalist and at the MGM property as well 😀😀
An acceptable method for me but not a winner for Rio
