I believe it’s 91 days but I don’t know if AmEx counts prior approval date and/or new application date as day 0 or day 1 or day 90 or day 91.

Regardless, I suggest doing the application a day or 2 prior to the offer expiration date, regardless of 90 or 91 days or 3 months.

Couple of years ago I applied for a NLL Biz Plat 58 days after approval for a Biz Plat. Pending review, called recon, was told “declined due to approved application for same type of card within last few months”. Called recon again 33 days later, agent said “it’s been 33 days since application and 92 days since prior approval, you called just in time”, 1 minute hold, approved with same SUB as per application date.

In your case it reads like a call to recon just a few days later would be successful.

FWIW, a year and a half ago I had a Biz Gold application (unexpectedly) go “pending review” and before I called recon I realized I had 10 open (maximum allowable) AmEx charge cards. I called the next day and closed 4 of the cars, called recon 2 days later, approved.

My point is that when declined for an AmEx card due to a “fixable” reason, AmEx doesn’t seem to hold a grudge and once the fixable reason is fixed, (presuming all other criteria are acceptable) Amex may (upon request) quickly approve the card.
