Day of check in, the app shows my room upgraded to a tower view basic king but also shows that a king tower view deluxe is available, which seems like they should have upgraded me to that instead, as it is still a basic non suite room type. I'm sure by the time I get to the hotel itself, that will no longer be showing available though.

Definitely not a smooth start to the stay. Room reeked of cigarette smoke and they have just made me wait 15 minutes and counting to figure out what to do or where to put me. Not impressed.

And eventually the lady who apparently is the duty manager, finally came back and offered me the same room 1 door down. She then asked if she could offer me breakfast and I had to tell her, sorry already have it as globalist (I guess she wasn't aware of the status checking me in?). All that hemming and hawing to just keep me in the same room type. Room is kind of basic and tired. Not impressed at all by this hotel. Maybe breakfast will blow me away.

They did send up a lovely fruit bowl thing that was tasty and lovely as an apology.
