you can change/add that number. Why did you join M&M if you are already SAG elsewhere? Most benefits such as using the premium counters or lounges you can get by simply showing your SAG card. Premium security for example is encoded in your BP and with more and more electronic access gates that won’t work otherwise. Swiss also tends to assign better seats for SAG for which the FQTV number needs to be in the reservation.

I am very much a newbie to this game,
I was tired of my current FFP (with which I am SAG) as I feel that aside from lounge access (poor locally), doesn't seem to offer much. I had planned to simply get to SAG annually with my current FFP and then go elsewhere for the rest of my flying.
I thought M&M would be a refreshing change and maybe open up more benefits but I didn't really investigate and I get what you mean.
Quick question though, one of the reasons I picked Swiss was because I could do a mileage/points upgrade with my current FFP, however turns out that I can't as I booked a W seat on Swiss which is excluded; is there still any benefit to changing my booking to the SAG FFP number?
