Normally you would put your banking details into the Complaints portal at the time of submission, and I guess for some reason you didn't do this or the data there isn't available to BA for some reason. So provided the email address is ba.com (not comcom as shown in the original post) then you are OK to proceed.
A datapoint: took one week to hear back from BA on my claim for a 3+ hr delay CTA-LGW on the 20th Sept (and a resulting missed connection). My claim was approved and they asked for my bank details (I missed where to give them on the initial webform when submitting the claim).

It took me a while to try to establish if the email from BA was legitimate before sharing banking details. Would it be possible for the Wiki be updated with the usual email addresses these come from?
