With AAdvantage now the FF program for JetSmart - do AAdvantage Elite benefits apply?
In advance of some travel later this month (GRU-SCL), I've been poking around the JetSmart site - which isn't well updated yet about this South American airline's adoption of AAdvantage as their own Frequent Flyer program. (In some of the FAQ, for example, says that AA miles can only be earned on codeshares - which their press release, and AA.com, both agree isn't any longer the case.
What I'd really like to know is how Elite benefits work under the new arrangement, when flying JetSmart, booked directly with them, and not on an AA codeshare.
Would an EXP get free baggage, priority check-in, free seating selection, and/or partner lounge access in Santiago? I'd like to think that they would - since those are elite status benefits of the AAdvantage program, and AAdvantage is now the program of JetSmart. But both their website, and AA.com, are silent on this.
Before booking my tickets, it would be nice to know - so I can decide which kind of fare to buy (and/or, if using another carrier makes more sense).
Does anyone here have any info or experience with this?
I've already written to JetSmart - and whatever they tell me, I'll report here.
