Wow, that cheap for SIN! Depending on the company - upfaring then to business and paying a difference (if any) out of pocket can be a nice way to handle this. I often do this from business to first and my company does not appear to mind it - never gotten into any trouble for that.
Note that the upfare is probably to a business class ticket with significantly more restrictions than the ones OP is considering. If the company prohibits buying nonrefundable airfare — a policy that would probably be 20 years out of date but isn’t completely unheard of — this could be a major concern.
