I leave Hotel Luc with mixed feelings - I’m really quite sad about the state of the paper-thin bed covers. Very disappointing for a new hotel. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded many days in advance to a Corner Suite - this stuck at check-in
- Really lovely views of Berlin
- Lots of seating areas - corner couch was decently comfortable
- Shower pressure was good
- Brought some truffles and cake bites as a welcome gift
- Given a voucher for a spritz in the bar, which was honestly quite good
- Offered late checkout proactively - I declined due to my train schedule
- Staff was friendly - they told me a whole story about potatoes
Neutral:
- Elite breakfast was odd - small buffet plus a la carte - confusing that bacon was not inserted into omelet - pancake was unique but overly dense and kind of hard to chew - given a €0 check to sign - croissant on buffet was really good, though
Cons:
- The bed - first off, the covers didn’t even fit the mattress as they were only tucked in on one side - the covers were way too thin - mattress seemed overly firm - even pillows felt off (slightly hard?)
I would give the Westin in the area another chance before coming back here due to the bed.
