Even on the german internet page (www.e-sixt.de) one can usually find better rates than the platinum discounted.
especially for weekend rentals where the platinum discount does not seem to work.

Still I use those cheaper rates but enter the Platinumcardnumber into the reservation.
I always get upgrades -
oftentimes all the way from smallest class to a nice mercedes c-class.
