Didn’t work for me on various phone/computer/OS/WiFi-Cell/....... or not - combinations. The only wild guess of mine would be: your wife’s iphone is wide-open in terms of privacy, and more specifically, location-sharing - as this is the only thing in common with all my numerous attempts. AC DOES try to sniff out way more that it could be logically explained - I gave up, to be honest, although do not doubt that ALL my information was/is recorded into their systems on every attempt
