some interesting figures from Simple Flying
Nashville was the 4th-biggest unserved US market from DUB (taking into account other markets already announced but which have not commenced - EI to LAS and DL to DTW):
Las Vegas NV (87,000)
- Phoenix AZ (35,000)
- Austin TX (31,000)
- Raleigh/Durham NC (31,000)
Detroit MI (29,000)
Nashville TN (25,000)
Dublin was the 2nd-largest unserved European market from BNA
The Dublin-Nashville point-to-point market saw 25,000 roundtrip passengers in the year to July. However, Aer Lingus will also attract passengers connecting to/from the UK and continental Europe, benefiting from US clearance in Dublin.
Since Dublin will have Aer Lingus flights to Las Vegas in October (87,000 roundtrip indirect passengers) and Delta to Detroit next summer (29,000), Nashville is the Irish capital's fourth-largest remaining unserved US destination. It comes after Phoenix (35,000), Raleigh Durham (31,000), and Austin (31,000). From Nashville's perspective, Dublin is the second-largest unserved European market after Rome. However, the Eternal City is unlikely to have non-stop Nashville flights due to the distance and a lack of potential operators
