Is that correct? Do I also get the 21% VAT refund if I pay with US credit card on top of the tourist rate? So really its something more in line with 400,000 ARS/night or $333 USD/night?
Sorry if its been explained before, must have missed it if so.
For me, the rate is quoted in dollars. Where do you see the rate quoted in ARS?
I think you start in dollars, the hotel converts to Argentine Pesos at one rate and your credit card company converts back to dollars at a better rate.
i think the hotel converts using something close to their official rate , their bank rate, and your us credit card company uses the MEP rate.
i think the VAT is also removed. I’m unsure whether the rates showing on Hyatt.com include VAT. If VAT is 21% and the rate includes VAT then the
.79x (The ratio of Argentine bank rate to MEP) is your discount. These rates are published daily.
