When I first went, there was no help from tech, so that was a real eye opener! I didn't get a 10th of the stuff done that you did with the help of your friends, but it was all fun anyway.
The last time I went in 2019, Google translate was virtually no help at all, it can't read Japanese text well so it guesses and I couldn't trust it at all. But maps was very useful.
